Former Watford star Odion Ighalo has been selected in the Chinese Super League Team of the Week for game week four by Whoscored.com. The Nigeria international netted his first ever brace for Shanghai Shenhua as they registered a 5-1 rout of Sone Aluko’s Beijing Renhe at the Hongkou Stadium (Shanghai) on Sunday.In a 4-4-2 formation, Ighalo was partnered in attack by Shanghai Shenhua teammate Giovanni Moreno, who opened the scoring in the comprehensive win against Beijing Renhe.With a rating of 9.84, the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers top scorer was there best rated player in the Team of the Week and was named Player of the Week as a result. Ighalo had a game-high six shots against Beijing Renhe, of which three were on target; made two key passes and had a passing accuracy of 77.8. The 29-year-old completed four take-ons, a joint game-high, the same number as compatriot Sone Aluko and Fredy Guarín.

According to the bulletin, printing of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) notification slip is on-going, as the board has since made it ready for all candidates who registered for the examination. “The notification is to allow candidates know their examination schedules, which includes time, date and venue of the examination. Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi has insisted that the level of corruption under the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration was worst than PDP’s 16 years. The former governor of Kaduna State and a presidential aspirant said the current level of corruption will not be known until APC leaves power. Speaking with PDP leaders in Enugu, he claimed that the anti-graft war was weak under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration because it has been politicised. Makarfi said, “By the time APC is kicked out in 2019, you will know that the corruption in the system now is even worse now than in PDP’s 16 years. It is usually difficult to investigate a government in power. “But, I must tell you clearly that this government is corrupt. They keep saying PDP is corrupt, yet we established EFCC, ICPC etc, which showed our readiness to fight corruption from the beginning.”

Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho is reportedly set to marry two women at the same time. The 38-year-old is allegedly living with ‘fiancees’ Priscilla Coelho and Beatriz Souza at his £5million Rio de Janeiro mansion, and are planning on taking the next step  with both of them  in August. Ronaldinho, whose full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, will wed his two partners in a private ceremony in the mansion, Brazilian media reports. The former Barcelona star allegedly started dating Beatriz in 2016, but continued his relationship with Priscilla, which began several years earlier. According to reports, both lovers receive an ‘allowance’ of around £1,500 from the footballer to spend as they wish. Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he would have preferred his side to clash with Manchester United, and not Liverpool, in this Saturday’s Champions League final in Kiev. Ronaldo, who spent six years at United, admitted that Liverpool have a powerful attack. The 33-year-old, however, said that the Los Blancos will need to be at their best to beat Jurgen Klopp’s men. “Finals are always special occasions. I would have preferred it to be Manchester United,” Ronaldo told Real Madrid TV. “But Liverpool deserve respect. We’re not going to have it easy. They deserve to be in the final. “They remind me of Madrid three or four years ago. A Nigerian student was killed and a woman, 39, sustained light injuries in an accident at Jalan Semarak near Taman Semarah in Malaysia yesterday. David Oyaele Audu, a student of the President College in Kuala Lumpur, was coming from a nightclub in Taman Semarak to Nilai town when his car veered off the road and hit the road divider before it was thrown to the opposite lane and crashed into another car driven by a woman. The woman sustained light injuries while Audu died on the spot due to severe head injuries. The accident happened at about 8.15am on Monday morning.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that some of his players picked up knocks, in their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday. Alex Iwobi picked up a hamstring injury, but played the entire 90 minutes. Henrikh Mkhitaryan who only made his return to the Gunners squad after two weeks, was also taken off. While goalkeeper David Ospina sustained a rib problem. “I took off Mkhitaryan because he had a little knock on his knee again, on the same knee – we could see that just looking at him in the dressing room. “Ospina has a rib problem and Alex Iwobi has a hamstring problem, so we’ll see how well everyone recovers. Thursday will come very quickly. “Definitely? At the moment, no, but we’ll have to monitor them over the next 48 hours. England’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the World Cup this summer after injuring a knee during Liverpool’s Champions League tie against Roma. The 24-year-old midfielder was taken off on a stretcher in the 15th minute of Tuesday’s match at Anfield after challenging Aleksandar Kolarov. He had a scan on Wednesday which revealed a knee ligament injury. “Absolutely devastated to have picked up this injury at such a crucial time,” said Oxlade-Chamberlain. He also said the injury “pales in comparison” to the news of a man being left in a critical condition after being attack outside Anfield before the match.
