Arsenal Accept Chelsea’s £15M Bid For Giroud (Good Buy?)

Arsenal and Chelsea have agreed a £15million fee plus bonuses and add-ons for Olivier Giroud. According to Sky Sports Italia, the deal will not be completed until the Gunners finalize Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund. On Monday night, Italian football expert, Gianluca DiMarzio, confirmed that talks between the two London clubs “are progressing well”. Giroud was pictured in Arsenal training on Monday, ahead of their Premier League trip to Swansea City on Tuesday, in deep discussion with manager Arsene Wenger. Antonio Conte is in search of a target man in the winter transfer window. The window closes 11pm on January 31.

World’s fastest man, Usain Bolt seems to have finally kick-started his football career. The retired Olympian looked like a natural as he trained with the South African Premier Division leaders on Monday. The Jamaican attended the practice session in Johannesburg…. Bolt has previously expressed his desire to play for Manchester United following his retirement from the race track. And the 31-year-old kicked off his football career with a training session with Mamelodi Sundowns at Chloorkop. The world’s fastest man was introduced to the team through their joint sponsor – Puma. He got stuck in with the session, and the clubs official Twitter page shared videos of the superstar in action. After that, he paid a visit to the Puma School of Speed – which is an organisation set up to find the next generation of talent. CSKA Moscow has re-signed Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, from Leicester City until the end of the season. The Nigerian striker, who is not in the plans of Claude Puel since the beginning of the season, returns to a club where he is worshipped in order to get playing time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with Nigeria The 25-year-old joined the former Premier League champions, Leicester, for £16m in 2016 and scored five goals in 33 games for the club. Musa has made just one appearance this season. LaLiga President, Javier Tebas has confirmed that controversial technology, VAR, will be used in the Spanish top flight from next season. According to Tebas, the LaLiga management are doing everything possible for the technology to arrive on time before the beginning of next season. Transfer News! Dortmund Striker Aubameyang Expected In London TODAY For Arsenal Medicals (Read)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to travel to London by today, to undergo his medicals with Arsenal and complete a 55million move to the Emirates. The Gunners agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the Gabon striker on Monday, but are seeking a replacement before they officially sanction the move. According to reports to Germany, Dortmund are closing on Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a six-month loan deal. There is no agreement with the Blues yet and they might yet turn to Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud. With the German transfer window closing midday on Wednesday, the Bundesliga club are expected to bring in one of the two strikers and give Aubameyang permission to leave. Aubameyang will become Arsenal’s record signing, as well as the highest-paid player in their history. He will sign a £180,000-a-week three-and-a-half year deal. Aubameyang is also expected to take the no. 14 shirt vacated by Theo Walcott and previously worn by Thierry Henry.

A Lagos Division of the Federal High Court has awarded N5.9 billion “special damages” against Multichoice Nigeria Limited in an eight-year-old copyright infringement legal battle between the South African firm and the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria Ltd./GTE. In a judgment on Friday, Mohammed Idris, the judge, struck out Multichoice’s claims against the defendant, the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria Ltd. (MCSN)/GTE. The judge said, “The court having delivered judgment this 19th day of January, 2018, striking out the plaintiff’s claims, it is hereby ordered as follows: That judgment is entered in favour of the defendant/counter-claimant in the following terms: N5,490,652,125.00 only as special damages.” The court also awarded separate sums of N200 million and N309 million as general and aggravated damages respectively against Multichoice in favour of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria Ltd./GTE. Brazil legend Pele is in hospital after collapsing on Thursday with exhaustion. The 77-year-old was due to travel to London this weekend for a dinner held in his honour by the Football Writers Association (FWA). The European Football Association (UEFA) on Tuesday named Manchester United ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona as the biggest revenue earner for last year, 2017. According to the annual report, United enjoyed the top position by beating all European clubs in the last financial year after a 32 percent increase propelled them above the Los Blancos and the Catalan club. The report said: “revenues among Europe’s 700-odd top-flight clubs totalled 18.5 billion euros (£16.5 billion) for 2016. “This is in comparison to 16.9 billion the year before and 2.8 billion in 1996. However, the report acknowledged that nearly half that amount — 9.1 million euros — was generated by 30 clubs.” “The financial gap between the elite ones and the rest was increasing.
