GROUP THREATENS TO BREAK OUT OF NIGERIA AND DECLARE BENDEL REPUBLIC A group, Midwest Movement, has threatened to declare Bendel Republic if the Federal Government fails to address ethnic agitations. It urged the government to revert to the 1960 and 1963 constitutions, to entrench true federalism. Addressing reporters in Benin City, the group’s convener, Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, said restructuring was the solution to the agitations. Obaseki, who noted that the Nigerian federation was in dire straits, said the body was concerned about the country’s situation. Eyes Of Lagos investigations show that, Reading the movement’s eight-point demand, he advocated structural deconstruction of the federation, saying the nation should be reconstructed through a re-federalisation process, using the 1963 Constitution as template. At least 41 Nigerians were on Thursday deported from six European countries for immigration and related offences. The deportees came from Austria, Germany, Hungry, Switzerland, Norway and Denmark.  According to TheNation, a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) source said the deportees comprised 35 males and six females. The source said the 41 people were deported for overstaying in the European countries. They were picked from different cities in the six countries.

Threatens To Resume Bombing A coalition of Niger Delta agitators on Thursday threatened to resume bombing of oil installations in the region and warned the federal government to stop dealing wit the Edwin Clark led Pan Niger Delta Forum, (PANDEF) on their behalf saying “the group can not resolve the crisis in the region” The group, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja also asked Northerners and Yourbas from South west resident in the region to vacate the Niger Delta before October 1,  while oil companies operating in the area and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation must relocate their headquarters to the the region.
